Oriel College Conservation Plan
Oriel College Oxford. Medieval street patterns and surviving built fragments, a state of the art 1620s rebuild, and gradual outside acquisitions and initiatives including one of only two new streets within the city walls of Oxford in modern times all contribute to a complex and multi layered townscape. Stow and Beale have made a Conservation and Management Plan, to enable the College to develop in the light of clear objectives based on the knowledge of what they are and have now. This plan will enable future development of the College as a series of urban spaces and urban landscapes: based on an explicit understanding of history, significance and meaning.
